Synopsis:
Ramji Jadav is one of Calcutta’s 20,000 rickschaw drivers, the only city in the world which still uses the hand-pulled rickshaw as the most important form of transport for people and goods. "Jin-Riki-Sha" accompanies and follows Ramji as he trundles with his vehicle through the over-crowded streets of this mega-city.

"Jin-Riki-Sha" was produced within a workshop initiated by Rosa von Praunheim in collaboration with ARTE. 20 students from the Potsdam Film School HFF "Konrad Wolf" travelled to Calcutta in spring 2005 to produce 9 short films together with students from the Film School in Calcutta (SRFTI).
