Synopsis:
"I´m ambitious, I learn until I´m dead. I try every day, one word, one
word. Maybe it takes a lifetime, but I do learn. Why not? I´m just like
all other people, have a head, have a feet too."
Eight migrant women of different origins, all participants in a German
language course in Berlin, describe the arc of their own lives, from
their childhoods right up to the situations in which they find
themselves today. They search for the right words, struggle to find each
phrase, grabbling with language, often finding new word creations and
metaphors to express what moves them so deeply. And they are really
funny. If words fail them, gestures or looks bring their narrations to
life, make them touching and beautiful.
So what do they talk about?
About life, love, displacement and the wish to finally arrive. Here. In Germany.
In other words – about themselves.
